This project was an album concept design for an unreleased single by Jungkook. This unreleased single track was titled ‘decalcomania”, a transfer technique, in which ink, paint, etc. is spread onto a surface and, while still wet and folded, creating a mirrored image.

decalcomania’s origins
"Decalcomania" is an original song by Jungkook. The demo was uploaded on Twitter on September 1, 2019 to celebrate Jungkook's 22nd birthday. After posting about said demo, it was later revealed that “Decalcomania” would never make it’s debut as it is now a deleted file. Fans were heartbroken about the unreleased demo, I being one of them, thus leading to the idea for this project.

I wanted to recreated the meaning of decalcomania, “a transfer technique, in which ink, paint, etc. is spread onto a surface and, while still wet and folded, creating a mirrored image” within the inner spread. Using paint and paper I used the said technique and photocopied the still wet paint to achieve the texture and design.

For this project, I would love to flesh out more on the brand touchpoints such as what concert tickets, artists badges, concert posters, merch designs, and social graphics could look like. Along with more touchpoints making digital mockups for what e-tickets or the artist page on Ticketmaster or AXS would be interesting, as most things are electronic.
